After recording Red Silk Vow with Seraphim Shock ( 1995-1997) at FanFare Recording Studios, Gregor decided to start pursuing a full time interest in audio engineering by acquiring an internship at FanFare working with Randy Hansen.

Gregor started buying equipment & setting up a home based studio with Andrew Warner (drummer for Bad Luck City & Snake Rattle Rattle Snake) where they proceeded to record projects with bands such as Black Black Ocean, The Hell Men, Machine Gun Blues, and numerous other local artists.

In 2007, Randy and Greg reconnected for the recording of Seraphim Shock's, Black Heart Revival , and through that project, Stark Raven Studio was brought into existence.

Offering years of experience as a song writers, musicians, engineers, and producers Gregor and Randy offer a unique experience not always found in a recording studio.

Randy Hansen

Randy started his professional recording career over twenty years ago starting with stereo recordings of the university symphony performances. This allowed him to understand and develop an appreciation for acoustics, proper microphone placement, and psychoacoustic principles.

While still in college, he started an internship with FanFare Recording Studio in Denver that developed into over 11 years of his career being an in-house engineer and leading to him being the chief engineer for the final 3 years of the studio operation. At FanFare, Randy worked with multi-track analog and the earliest versions of Pro Tools.

Randy's time at FanFare allowed opportunities to work with many producers, some of whom were multi-gold and multi-platinum producers. Randy was also one of the sound designers for a video game project, The Page Master, which was meant to be a computer sequel to the movie from Hanna-Barbera and Turner Entertainment.

In 1994 and 1995, Randy would help with the construction of FanFare's post recording facility. It is here that he would assist and record, ADR, foley, and design effects for various clients including NBC, Fox Sports, and various independent films.

In 2002, after FanFare had shut its doors, Randy went to work for Denver Center Media, the in-house production arm the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. His responsibilities included production of TV and radio commercials for the Center, recording and mixing various orchestrations of custom music for the productions, and production and post-production audio for in-house and client documentaries.

Randy also assisted with the studio portion of various voice over classes and workshops. This led to his giving a presentation to the members of VASTA on home recording and voice over at the 2007 national convention in Denver.

It was in 2007 while recording Seraphim Shock's "Black Heart Revival" that Randy and Greg decided to create a studio.

Focusing on skills as a producer and engineer, Randy and Greg strive to bring out the best qualities of each artist they work with, while providing a fun, relaxing, and professional atmosphere for overdubbing or mixing of your project.
